Introducing
AMSA UW Mentorship Program
Our Winter quarter events have started!
Applications will still be reviewed on a rolling basis. Email us if you submitted your application after 2/1/2023!
Starting the first week of the Winter Quarter, we will be initiating the AMSA UW Mentorship Program! This program was created with the intention of building lasting support and connections inside the pre-medical/medical academic communities. With this program, we desire to make med school feel more accessible and approachable for all students - regardless of any identities and challenges their lived experiences may hold. As you very well know, one of the major challenges of premed is getting connected with the right people who give the right advice (especially at the right time…) so we wanted to make it extra simple and personal.
Our Mentorship Program is built on a tri-layer system (one of the first of its kind!): pairing UWSOM med students with both undergrad upperclassmen mentors and undergrad mentees.
-
Undergrad mentors and mentees: We are looking for mentees and mentors who are able to communicate biweekly and willing to attend 2 of 3 Mentorship Program events with their mentorship group per quarter. For more information, click here.
Med student mentors: We are looking for med student mentors who are able to check-in at least monthly and are willing to attend 1 of 3 Mentorship Program events with their mentorship group per quarter.
-
We are looking for mentors and mentees who are able to commit to the responsibilities of this program for the rest of the school year.
All undergrad mentors and mentees must be AMSA UW members (click here for more information on membership). Undergrad mentors must at least be in their second year at UW. Transfer students in their first year at UW should apply to be a mentee.
There is no membership or year requirements for med student mentors.
